Also Green And Kiwi

by Vik Olliver

No, not the fruit. Our mate Phil Court of Greenstage was showing off his Open Source electric racing car that looks set to do exciting things in hill-climbing. I’m just itching to see this beast in action:

Fast, sleek, red electric racing car with the band playing alongside it.

Anyhow, they needed a box for their electronics printed and so we obliged; at which point they demonstrated a James Bond-like Tumanako Dashboard of the racing car in real time on an Android phone using Open Source software.

A number of other types of electric cars were available, most of them conversions but some of the newer production models too. The GS750V is for sale – at $150,000 . There were social vehicle charging points, networked solar panels, an electrical energy co-op and – Summer at last – a solar energy exhibition where you actually got to risk sunburn!

Apologies

by Tamara

I would like to personally apologize for the late delivery of some people’s orders, there was a muck-up on PBT Couriers’ end and they have failed to give us some essential postage. Vik has had a rather stern conversation with a representative and the goods should be turning up today.

Thank you for the patience you all have shown so far, and again I apologize for the inconvenience.

Surviving without Interwebs

by Vik Olliver

We’re running off cellphones at the moment. We are assured that the technology required to connect us to the internets is available in NZ in as little as 5 days. The marvellous pace of technology in these isles… Meanwhile our website is, er,  working fine, everything’s perfectly all right now. We’re fine. We’re all fine here now, thank you… How are you?

Some Website troubles

by Tamara

Hi all, we’re currently having some website coding troubles, so it would probably be best to send us a email with your orders rather than use the shop tab of the website. This should all be fixed by the 28th of October.

Cheers all for your patience,

Tamara Olliver

Tru Track’s Mendelmax

by Vik Olliver

Mendelmax 3D printer with no Z guides and a really neat heated bed.We had to share this picture of a really neat MendelMax built by Tru Track, one of our clients and the first recipient of our upcoming UV-Resistant ASA filament which they will use in their range of weather instrumentation. Note that their cunning design uses custom precision leadscrews (not actually that expensive) and a lovely heated bed. Because of the leadscrews, no Z guide rails are needed in this version!
